Abstract

Learning Outcomes

This case can be used to teach students and professionals the strategic implementation of human capital theory in the healthcare industry. Upon completion of the case discussion, learners will be able to evaluate the impact of human resource management practices on organizational performance, employee retention, and patient outcomes. They will analyse key HR challenges within hospitals, such as staff motivation, skill development, and compensation structures, and assess how these affect service delivery and financial performance. Students will also explore strategies for developing talent pipelines, implementing training programs, and leading organizational change in healthcare institutions. Additionally, the case encourages participants to apply change management frameworks and generate practical HR interventions for real-world hospital settings.
