Abstract
Learning Outcomes
This case study explores the intersection of entrepreneurship, social impact, and business strategy by examining how solving social and environmental challenges can drive profitable enterprises. It aims to achieve the following goals: understand how businesses can integrate social and environmental problem-solving into sustainable and profitable models; evaluate the political, environmental, and cultural challenges of establishing a business in Ethiopia; demonstrate the role of vertical integration in scaling production operations; and develop skills in auditing an existing business model. Thus, students will gain insights into sustainable business practices, be introduced to strategies for overcoming market entry challenges, learn about operational scaling through vertical integration, and be guided on conducting business model audits for strategic decision-making.
