Yinka Moses is an accounting academic and practitioner specialising in financial management sustainable decision-making, and accounting technologies at the Wellington School of Business and Government, Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. His research examines the intersection of managerial accountability, sustainability, and strategic decision-making, with a particular focus on how organisations design, implement, and govern forward-looking financial and non-financial reporting systems in response to evolving regulatory, environmental, and societal expectations.

Yinka’s work has been published in leading international journals, including The British Accounting Review, Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Financial Accountability & Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, Meditari Accountancy Research, Accounting & Finance, Journal of Contemporary Accounting & Economics, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, among others.  He plays an active leadership role within the global scholarly community. Yinka is Editor of Advances in Environmental Accounting & Management and serves as Associate Editor for Meditari Accountancy Research, Journal of Chinese Economic and Business Studies, and Cogent Business & Management. He also serves on the editorial boards of several prominent accounting and interdisciplinary journals, contributing to the advancement of scholarship in sustainability, accountability, and financial management.

Beyond academia, Yinka is actively engaged in professional, policy, and public debates on sustainability, strategic reporting, and corporate accountability in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. Through regular engagement with professional bodies, policymakers, industry leaders, and the media, he contributes evidence-based perspectives on emerging developments in sustainability reporting and governance.

Yinka is a Fellow of both Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia. He currently serves as Chair of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee of CPA Australia (New Zealand Division), where he provides strategic leadership on emerging sustainability and reporting issues affecting the accounting profession. He is also Treasurer of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (Wairarapa and Wellington Branch).

Internationally, Yinka serves as President of the African Accounting and Finance Association (2025–2027) and Vice President-at-Large of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research. His academic and professional contributions have been recognised through numerous competitive grants, leadership appointments, awards, and honours, including his appointment as Professor Extraordinarius at the University of South Africa and among others.
